Children Receive Gifts Through Angel Tree Program

Today was an exciting day for hundreds of children and their families as they received Christmas gifts through the Angel Tree Program. More than 300 children in Anniston and other surrounding communities will now see gifts stocked under their trees, thanks to supporters of the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. This program provides new toys for children in need through the support of donors.

Angel Trees were decorated with numbered angel tags with the first name, age and gender of a child in need of presents. Contributors removed one or more tags from the tree and purchased the appropriate gifts for the child described on the tag. Lieutenant Jennifer Graham says this would not be possible without donations from members within the community.

Lieutenant Graham also says she’s thankful for everyone who has volunteered their free time to help make the Angel Tree distribution process run smoothly so every parent can come collect their children’s gifts.
