Anniston Fire Department Conducting Fire and Life Safety Inspections

The Anniston Fire Department will soon begin conducting annual Fire and Life Safety Inspections during the first quarter of the year. The City of Anniston Fire Marshal’s Office notified business owners and public facilities within the city limits that fire trucks will be seen in all parts of the city in order to develop safe planning for future emergency responses.

The visits will also provide fire personnel with the opportunity to meet business owners and residents within the community. Fire Marshal Jeff Waldrep says his overall goal is to make sure everyone is safe including people who visit in and out of Anniston.

Fire Marshal Waldrep also says the department visits nearly 1,700 buildings per year that includes, churches, schools, industries, and businesses. Single family homes and duplex buildings will not be visited by the fire department.
