Tax Refunds Will Continue During Shutdown
Today marks day 18 since the partial government shutdown on December 22nd of last year. The White House wants you to know that tax refunds will still go out on time. An announcement recently was made to reverse the long-standing policy to withhold refunds during the shutdown.
The Internal Revenue Service has stopped many of its services, but officials said the agency would continue issuing tax refunds. President Donald Trump is not willing to give in unless congress agrees to fund the $5.4 billion border wall.
The partial shutdown has affected 800,000 government employees.
