City Council Approves Lodging Tax Increase for City of Oxford

The Oxford City Council recently approved a measure to raise lodging tax from six-percent to 8%. According to the tax ordinance, the additional 2% tax will be used for public safety and bringing events in the city.

 

The tax will go into effect on June first and last for a period of 180 continuous days or more for facilities that benefit from nonprofit organizations, have conference centers, hosts camps, and other similar programs.
