Anniston Man Charged with First Degree Receiving Stole Property

Oxford Police have a man in custody for receiving stolen property. Lamon Arnold of Anniston was seen by officers driving a vehicle that matched the description of one used during a robbery at the Quintard Mall earlier last week. A Randolph County woman’s purse was snatched outside the mall and a man left the scene in a silver Chevy Impala.

Captain LG Owens reports that when officers ran the license plate of the Impala Arnold was driving, the car had been reported stolen to the Anniston Police Department. Officers arrested Arnold for receiving stolen property. Investigators also believe that he is responsible for the purse snatching robbery. Arnold has a court date set for February 7th.
