Community Foundation Celebrates 20 Years with 'Big Idea'

Wednesday, January 16, 2019

The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama has proudly served the community for 20 years. To celebrate this milestone, the foundation has created a unique grant opportunity for nonprofit organizations within the region. The ‘Big Idea’ grant has been established to help cultivate and showcase the region’s creativity. Nonprofits must submit a video application proposing a innovative idea that will benefit the community.

The idea is allowed to be anything from a single big purchase to a new program proposal. As long as it serves the community in a positive way. The videos will be scored based on the content of the project, video production and technical skills.

President and CEO Jennifer Maddox believes this opportunity will spark a lot of great ideas within the community.

The organization with the most creative idea will win $20,000. The second place winner will receive $2,000 and third place will get $200. Pre-applications for the ‘Big Idea’ Grant starts March 20th. All videos are due June 20th and the winners will be announced on November first. For more information visit www.yourcommunityfirst.org.
