Mobile Officer Killed While Executing Arrest Warrant

A man is in custody after shooting a killing a Police Officer in Mobile. Officer Sean Tuder was shot and killed Sunday while executing an arrest warrant according to the Mobile Police Department. Officer Tuder has been with the Mobile Police Department since March of 2016.

19 year old Marco Perez is believed to have shot and killed Officer Tuder. Perez had local and federal warrants for several charges. Prior to the warrant execution, he faked his own abduction in order to avoid reporting to jail. Perez is being held in the Mobile County Jail without bond on several charges including Capital Murder.

Officer Tuder’s death comes a day after the City of Birmingham celebrated the life of Police Sergeant Wytasha Carter who was also killed in the line of duty. Officer Tuder was 30 year old and is the fifth officer to be killed in the line of duty this year.
