Governor Kay Ivey has order for all flags across the state to be lowered as a mark of respect for the second police officer killed this month in the line of duty. Ivey says Officer Sean Tuder gave his life doing what he loved, protecting the people of Mobile.
All flags are to be flown at half-staff until sunset on January 27th. Officer Tuder was gunned down while executing an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Marco Perez. Perez is being held inside the Mobile County Jail on several charges including Capital Murder.
Officer Tuder is the seventh officer in the country to be gunned down in the line of duty this year.
