Noble Street Deli Provides Free Lunches to Homeless
One local restaurant owner sprang into action to make sure people in the community wouldn’t go without a meal today. Mike Alexander owns the Noble Street Deli in Anniston and it was brought to his attention earlier today that The Soup Bowl kitchen would be closed.
Resulting in hundreds of people who rely on the Soup Bowl for a meal would not get one. The Noble Street Deli gave away hundreds of meals and water. Alexander tells TV24 that once he served several people inside his restaurant, he drove around delivering meals as well.
Alexander also says he delivered meals to places like the Salvation Army, and Zinn Park. With early temperatures barely being over 40 degrees, he says he’s just glad he was able to provide nice warm meals to people who needed it most.
