Student Recreation and Fitness Center Officially Opens at JSU

Jacksonville State University has officially opened its new, state of the art Recreation and Fitness Center. The new building is more than 100 square feet and it features swimming pools, multiple basketball courts, student lounge areas, a 40 foot tall climbing wall and top of the line weight and cardio rooms.

 

The new rec center sits on the southeast corner of campus, next to Pelham Road. President of the Student Government Association Kasey Gamble says students are thrilled to see the progression the university has made since the devastating tornado. Gamble also believes that student will utilize this facility a lot more than they anticipated.

Gamble also believes that the new $32 million project will be a huge determining factor for future Gamecock students.
