Warming Stations in Oxford, Anniston, and Gadsden


During this cold snap in East Alabama, there will be several warming stations open for members of the community who need help staying warm. The Oxford Civic Center will open up as a warming center Tuesday, 6am until noon on Wednesday. Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge says officers and firefighters will be present to ensure safety.

The Salvation Army in Anniston will remain open to provide shelter and food until outside conditions are safe. The Carver Community Center in Anniston will open at 6am on Tuesday, and remain open until Friday, February first. The Elliott Community Center in Gadsden will remain open as a 24 hour warming center.
