The City of Oxford was recently ranked in the top 30 Safest Cities in Alabama. With the numbers rolling in, we now know why. According to Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge, since introducing predictive and intelligence policing, the city’s crime has dropped dramatically.
Burglaries are down nearly 25%, Breaking and Entering of Vehicles are down almost 80%, and Thefts have dropped by 29.5%. Overall, city crime is down nearly 30%. Chief Partridge says his officers and investigators worked extremely hard to bring these numbers down and to keep them down.
Partridge also says that the predictive and intelligence led policing will be used by the East Metro Area Crime Center to help make a difference within the region.
