The Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County and CARES Medical Clinic have partnered together to help make Valentine’s Day special for residents within the area. Parents and children of all ages are encouraged to come and make Valentine’s Day cards for elderly people living in retirement and nursing homes within the area.
The Have A Heart Program allows for you to come to the Children’s Department inside the library during business hours and create your own holiday cards free of charge. Kids will receive a prize for participating. On Valentine’s Day, all the cards will be delivered to senior residents by Boy and Girl Scouts. Jocelin is a third grader who helps deliver cards every year and she says she enjoys seeing the smiles on people’s faces.
Cards will be made every day during regular business hours until February 14th.
