Man Arrested on Drug Trafficking & Resisting Arrest Charges

Two people were arrested over the weekend on Drug Trafficking Charges. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Shropshire of Cedar Bluff, attempted to run from officers conducting a routine traffic stop. Officers were able to stop and arrest him on Highway 9.


Shropshire was in possession of several ounces of methamphetamine, pills, suboxone and counterfeit money. He is being charged with two counts of Unlawful possession of a Controlled Substance, Attempting to Elude, Possession of a forged instrument, and more. Shropshire’s bond is set at $123,000.
