Screen Time For Children Has Doubled Since 1997

A new study has shown that screen time for children under two years old has more than doubled since 1997. According to the journal JAMA Pediatrics, daily screen time for kids under two years of age, went from 1.3 hours to more than 3 hours. This includes children using computers, cell phones, tablets, along with other devices.

Excessive screen time for children has been linked to delays in cognitive, verbal and social growth in addition to an increased risk of obesity. The journal recommends kids under 18 months avoid screens all together. Children ages 2-5 should have screen time for no longer than 1 hour per day. For more information on the study, visit
