Beautiful Rainbow Cafe Documentary Screening Highlights Students in Workforce

Wednesday, February 20, 2019

The Beautiful Rainbow City Cafe inside the Gadsden Public Library debuted several documentaries that highlighted students gaining employment within the community. Since the cafe opened in 2017, 13 students with special needs have found employment in area restaurants, hotels, and other businesses with help from the Beautiful Rainbow.

This is a program of Gadsden City Public Schools that teaches students with significant disabilities and autism the skills they need to work independently in the community. Students learn how to grow fruits and vegetables such as collard greens, carrots, peppers, tomatoes and much more.

More than 75 people showed up to view the mini documentaries that will soon be posted on the Gadsden City Schools website and on the Beautiful Rainbow Cafe’s website. Everyone is encouraged to visit the cafe Tuesday through Friday from 11am until 1pm.
