Today was bittersweet for Talladega College as the school’s final game in the historic Callanan Gym tipped off today. After today’s game against Selma, the Talladega Tornadoes will play in their new 47,000 square foot facility once it’s finished.
The Callanan gymnasium has been apart of Talladega college since 1924. The new student center and gymnasium will seat 2,000 fans, have a dining hall, full kitchen and concession stand along with multipurpose rooms and more.
Talladega College has been involved in a number of construction projects recently and the Director of Public Relations says the historic buildings will always hold a special place.
The tornadoes beat the bulldogs 95 to 86 as they wrap up their home season schedule.
