A state of emergency has been issued for several counties affected by flooding. In Cherokee County, a shelter has been established for anyone that has been displaced by the rising flood waters. The shelter is located at the Cherokee County Health and Rehab Activity Building in Centre. Hot meals, cots and showers are available there.
Cedar Bluff has also opened the city park bathrooms to the public for 24 hour use in addition to the community center being available from 8am until 4pm. City officials are also working with Red Cross to establish a shower trailer near town hall. An announcement will be made as soon as the trailer is available.
