Sardis High School Threat Update


On the evening of February 22nd, Sardis High School principal received a concerning email. The email was immediately shared with the school’s resource officer, and the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office. With the assistance of the FBI and Oxford East Metro Area Crime Center, all information regarding the email has been processed and extensively investigated.

According to a statement released by Sheriff Jonathon Horton, all leads have been explored and the present determination is that no valid threat has been identified from the information provided via email in question. Sheriff Horton encourages daily activities to resume and deputies will continue providing the utmost attention and security to all Etowah County Schools.
