WEIS Radio Disaster Relief Fund


Residents in Cherokee County affected by flood waters are anxiously waiting to see how bad the damage is to their belongings and property once the water completely recedes. The county’s Emergency Management Agency has requested for WEIS Radio to re-activate a program that will benefit those affected.

The WEIS Radio Disaster Relief Fund will not only go towards helping people and families across Cherokee County affected by the flooding, but for animals as well. Beginning last week, several parts of Cherokee County received record high levels of flooding. Closing schools, blocking off roads, in addition to displacing people from their homes. Flood waters haven’t completely receded, but, when it does, families will need your help picking up the remaining pieces of their lives.

Donations to the WEIS Radio Disaster Relief Fund can be made by cash or check, credit or debit, and are currently being accepted at the WEIS Radio Studios at 477 South Pratt Street in Centre. The studio is open Monday through Friday from 8am until 5pm. You can also make a donation by calling the two numbers shown above. Checks can be made payable to the WEIS Radio Disaster Relief Fund and mailed to P.O. Box 297 Centre, Alabama, 35960.

A portion of the funds collected will go toward feeding and care of animals rescued from the waters. If you prefer you monetary donation go towards the animal shelter at the Softball Complex in Centre, simply note it when you pay through credit, debit, or cash, or state that on your check. No amount is too great or too small.
