Birth Control Pill Recall

Thursday, March 7, 2019

There has been nationwide recall issued for specific birth control pills due to a packaging error. According to the FDA, the Apotex Corporation is recalling drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol tablets that were distributed to wholesalers and distributors all over the country.

The packaging of these birth control tablets may contain defective blisters, missing tablets, or tablets that are arranged incorrectly. These issues can diminish the effectiveness of the tablets and lead to pregnancy.

Apotex has not received reports of this happening but encourages patients who use this product to contact your pharmacy or healthcare provider.
