More than 100 people participated in the round table event held at the Oxford Civic Center Tuesday evening by the Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention. The main topic of discussion; Opioids, and how the use of these drugs are continuously becoming a problem within the state.
Many believe that if everyone can collectively come together, a solution to end opioid and drug addiction can be created. Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown, Sheriff Matthew Wade, along with several others participated as guest speakers.
People who attended last night’s round table discussion got a better understanding of the seriousness of opioid addiction and where to go to get treatment for themselves, their family, or friends.
