A body was found by a fisherman at the South Sauty Creek near Bucks Pocket Tuesday evening. Marine Patrol Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency responded to the scene. A forensics team has identified the body as Koy Spears.
18-year-old Koy Spears of Dekalb County was reported missing after his Jeep was swept away in flood waters at Bucks Pocket State Park during the recent flooding in Cherokee County. According to WEIS Radio, deputies found Spears’ Jeep in the water but it was unsafe to pull it out at the time.
