A student at Weaver High School has been arrested on charges of terroristic threat. Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade reported that a juvenile student made several threatening posts on SnapChat. The student also said he planned to bring a gun to school. Authorities believe that the student was upset when officials took disciplinary action against him, deciding to send him to an alternative school.
The student was arrested and taken to the Coosa Valley Juvenile Detention Center where he was charged with making a terroristic threat; which is a Class C felony. More than 200 students were absent on Monday in reaction to this incident.
