Common Core Repeal in the Works

The state’s Education Policy Committee voted unanimously to pass Senator Del Marsh’s bill in an effort to eliminate Common Core in Alabama. SB 119 was recently filed to replace the Common Core Standards for Math and English Language Arts.

Senator Marsh says that in the past ten years, the state of Alabama is 49th in math and 46th in reading within the public school system. The bill will now be viewed by the full Senate on Thursday.
