Hands Free Law Bill Heading to AL House

Georgia’s Hand-Free Law may soon be coming to Alabama. The Alabama House Public Safety and Homeland Security met earlier today and approved a bill based on the Hands-Free Law in Georgia.

The proposed bill would ban drivers from holding or touching their phone or any other electronic device using any part of their body. If the law passes, drivers could face fines of up to $150 for violations.

So far, 17 states and the District of Columbia have banned holding a phone while driving.
