Gadsden-Etowah Habitat for Humanity Chosen as Part of Winn-Dixie Community Bag Program

The Gadsden-Etowah Habitat for Humanity has been chosen to be a part of the Community Bag Program at Winn-Dixie in Rainbow City. For the entire month of April, customers will have the opportunity to contribute to their community while also supporting the environment by eliminating single-use paper and plastic bags. Each time a reusable community bag is purchased at Winn-Dixie, one dollar will be donated to the Gadsden-Etowah Habitat for Humanity.

Scharfenberg also tells TV24 that registration will soon open for the eighth annual Habitat Dragon Boat Festival. Businesses, families, churches, and other organizations are encouraged to gather your team of 24 and register to compete in this year’s dragon boat race. Although the date for the official festival isn’t until August 17th, slots are expected to fill up fast. Registration will open up on April 15th.
