Three Men Charged with 1st Degree Theft of Property

Three men are accused of stealing $100,000 worth of property after the recent flooding in Cherokee County. Ronnie Norton of Temple, Georgia, Christopher Clonts of Rome, and Gary Childers of Henagar have each been arrested and charged with stealing four campers and one utility trailer.

 

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, three of those campers were found in Floyd County, Georgia while another was recovered from Dekalb County, Alabama. Investigators also found the utility trailer at a home on County Road seven. All three men are currently waiting to be extradited to the Cherokee County Jail where they will each face three counts of first degree Theft of Property.
