Master Gardener Greenhouse Project at Cane Creek Community Gardens

The Coosa Valley Resource Conservation and Development Council secured a grant in the amount of $15,000 to dedicate a greenhouse project to a gardeners wife who passed away. “The Sherron Pritchett Memorial Greenhouse” is being named after the wife of active Master Gardener, Dick Pritchett.

The greenhouse will be used by the Master Gardeners to help fulfill their educational mission in Calhoun County while also raising funds for future developments at Cane Creek Community Gardens. There is a total of 17 acres of land donated to the Master Gardeners Program by the County Commission. Pritchett says he knows his wife would be proud to have the greenhouse in her honor. Pritchett says with Earth Day being just weeks away, he looks forward to having more than 1,000 kids participating in the festivities that will be held at the community gardens.
