Today is World Autism Awareness Day and to bring awareness to those affected by Autism, TV24 staff wore blue today. Autism Spectrum Disorder is a group of neurodevelopmental disorders that affect an estimated 1 in 59 children in the United States. Because autism is a spectrum disorder, no two individuals with autism experience the exact same effects.
Some potential indicators of Autism include not responding to their name by 12 months of age, delayed speech and language skills, and repeating words or phrases over and over.
