Best Warrior Competition
An Army competition filled with elite competitors has come to McClellan. For the remainder of the week, officers and soldiers are in competition for the selection of the Army Non-Commissioned Officer and Soldier of the Year. The Best Warrior Competition will ultimately test their capabilities, combat-readiness, and lethality. This week long competition is hosted by the third Medical Command Deployment Support located in Forest Park, Georgia.
This division provides support and technical supervision for more than 7,500 soldiers and civilians located in 21 states and Puerto Rico It also prepares trained soldiers and units on how to conduct missions in the most capable, combat ready and lethal U.S. Army Reserve force. This competition is like no other for the simple fact that soldiers have no idea what to expect heading into each challenge. Part of today’s challenge was the tactical combat casualty care event. Competitors say are some of the toughest challenges they’ve faced. In order for competitors to qualify, certain prerequisites had to be met regarding physical fitness and overall knowledge before being nominated for the Best Warrior Competition. This competition helps soldiers know where they stand if the challenges were replaced with actually deployment situations. The Best Warrior Competitor will be chosen after Thursday’s challenges.
