Clay County Animal Shelter Closes Due to Parvo Outbreak

Friday, April 5, 2019

Another animal shelter has temporarily closed its doors due to another virus outbreak. The Clay County Animal Shelter is closed until further notice due to a Parvo outbreak. Parvo is a highly contagious virus that attacks a dog’s digestive tract and is spread by dog-to-dog contact.

The shelter received several puppies that were left at the Lineville City Park recently and they all tested positive for Parvo. Pet owners who recently took their dog to Lineville City Park are encouraged to get their dog tested immediately.

If you would like to donate to the Clay County Animal Shelter to help with the cost of treatments for the dogs, checks can be sent to the shelter by mail or sent to Twin Creeks.
