Summer is quickly approaching and one community center is making the necessary adjustments to ensure families take advantage of all it has to offer. The Jacksonville City Council has agreed to lower the cost of day passes into the community pool for children 12 years old or younger.
The price dropped from $3 a child to $2. However, prices for anyone older than 12 have raised to $4 a person. Jacksonville Mayor Johnny Smith says the council has been searching for ways to bring more people into the city, and the community center. He also hopes this will also make it more affordable for everyone to enjoy.
Smith also says that summer family pool passes increased from $90 to $100 and individual passes have increased from $40 to $45. The Jacksonville Community pool will open Memorial Day Weekend.
