Gadsden State Secures Grant from National Science Foundation

Gadsden State Community College has secured a grant from the National Science Foundation for more than $435,000. The grant will be used to develop a program curriculum that will train skilled technicians in advanced manufacturing to help close the skills gap and fulfill the needs of Alabama’s manufacturing workforce.

The grant will also help Gadsden State purchase necessary equipment for an automated industrial line, programmable logic controllers, and a robot and conveyor system. Gadsden State plans to use this opportunity to educate students on future technology by creating robotics workshops, student empowerment camps along with high school counselor camps.
