During this breakfast, five honorees were recognized and celebrated for their positive work in the communities across Etowah, Cherokee, and Calhoun Counties. These everyday heroes are people who do things out of the ordinary, which makes them special to the community they serve.

Honorees mentioned were Marily Burke who is the special education supervisor for the Oxford City Schools. Cotina Houston-Stroud, Executive Director of Family Links in Calhoun County. Joe Hall- Volunteer Coordinator of the Baptist Campus Ministry at Gadsden State Cherokee. Gaston Elementary School Counselor, Heath McLeod.
