Ryan Herring Leaves Oxford HC (Former Head Coach)
Oxford athletic director Larry Davidson has confirmed that head football coach Ryan Herring has left the program. Herring spent seven seasons as the Yellow Jackets head coach and informed the team of the decision on Wednesday. Herring is an Oxford graduate and a member of the 1993 state championship team for his father Robert.
During his tenure at Oxford, Herring's team went 50-32 and qualified for the postseason five times. In the last three seasons, the Yellow Jackets posted a 32-5 record with two berths in the state quarterfinals.
According to reports, Herring is in line to accept a head coaching job in Georgia. Davidson says Herring did a "great job in continuing the tradition of Oxford football" and says they will start an immediate search for his replacement.
