St. Clair County Sheriff Completes Institution Program


A local sheriff is being recognized for his completion in the 16th session of the National Sheriffs’ Institute. Saint Clair County Sheriff Billy Murray joined 28 other sheriffs from across the country to complete training on contemporary challenges facing America’s sheriffs today.

While in training in Aurora, Colorado, Sheriff Murray explored more ways on providing effective leadership in areas such as public safety, community relations, and the criminal justice system. This program was sponsored by the National Sheriffs’ Association and others.

Since 1940, NSA has served as an information clearinghouse for law enforcement professionals. As of today, the NSA represents nearly 3,100 elected sheriffs nationwide.
