Community members and leaders in the City of Heflin celebrated a new trail spur that is sure to bring tourism and economic development into the area. The Pinhoti Trail Spur travels through the Talladega National Forest before connecting to Cahulga Creek Park.
The trail head to the Pinhoti is City Hall in Downtown Heflin. Director of Economic Development, Tanya Maloney says Cleburne County has an abundance of natural resources that deserves to be enjoyed by everyone and this trial will provide that experience.
Maloney says this trial will also attract tourists into the downtown area to see what all the City of Heflin has to offer. Along the trail, hikers will see a waterfall at Rocky Creek Dam, Amtrak trains, and more. To find out more about the Pinhoti Trail Spur, visit the CityofHeflin.org.
