Investigators in Cherokee County have a man in custody who is being accused of breaking into a local elementary school. 42-year-old Joey Shropshire of Centre is currently being charged with first degree theft of property. According to WEIS Radio, the Centre Police Department received information regarding items missing from Centre Elementary School.
The evidence gathered pointed to Shropshire as a suspect. He is being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond. Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship says Shropshire could face additional charges as the investigation continues.
