Woman Charged With Hit and Run
A hit and run in Jacksonville has resulted in one woman being airlifted to a nearby hospital and another in police custody. In a statement released by Jacksonville Police Chief Marcus Wood, 25-year-old Anissa Burns of Anniston has been charged with first degree Assault.
Officers recently responded to reports of a hit and run on Marbut Drive Southwest and discovered a woman who had been hit by a vehicle and suffered a noticeable head injury. During the investigation, officers interviewed multiple eyewitnesses who identified Burns and her vehicle. She is being held in the Calhoun County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
