Anniston Police have charged an Oxford man with murder in connection to Sunday night’s shooting at a Taco Bell in Anniston. 24-year-old Alvaro Alvarez of Oxford is currently being held in the Calhoun County Jail in connection to the Murder of 23-year-old Courtney Horton. On Sunday evening, Anniston Police responded to a call in the 2100 block of Quintard Avenue where they found Horton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died. Investigators were able to identify Alvarez based on statements from witnesses and evidence from the scene. According to Sergeant Kyle Price, there was a disturbance that took place in the Taco Bell parking lot and Horton was shot as a result. Alvarez’s bond has not yet been set.
