A late night fire in the Jacksonville Community kept residents awake while firefighters worked to extinguish the flames. The Jacksonville Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Highway 21 late Monday night.
According to Assistant Fire Chief Chris Roberts, investigators are still working to determine what caused the building owned by Southern Roofing to catch fire. Once fire crews arrived, it took them more than one hour to put out the flames. Chief Roberts says he is thankful no one was injured and applauds nearby resident’s cooperation during the fire.
