Several colleges in the state have announced a freeze on tuition increase for the 2019-2020 academic year. Jacksonville State University Trustees voted last month on the tuition freeze. According to WEIS Radio, JSU’s tuition increase over the last ten years is 71.5%.

Four other colleges including the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Huntsville have also announced a tuition freeze. This is the first time in 40 years that all three schools in the UA system have chosen not to raise tuition for its students.
