Lottery Bill Fails
Chances are starting to look slim for those who hoped for a state lottery. WEIS Radio reports that the lottery bill fell short of the 3/5 margin required that would have allowed voters to decide the fate of a state lottery.
What lawmakers mainly disagree on was the bill’s formula that would have directed 75% of net lottery revenue to the state General Fund and 25% to the Education Trust Fund. It’s been 20 years since voters had their say so on a state lottery bill.
