Oxford City Residents to Vote on Sunday Alcohol Sales

Residents living within Oxford city limits will soon decide if alcohol sales should be allowed on Sundays. During Tuesday’s city council meeting, council members passed a resolution to hold a referendum on July 23rd for residents to vote on a topic that has been up for debate for several years.

Residents who are either for or against the Sunday alcohol sales are encouraged to vote at normal city elections polling locations beginning at 7am until 7pm on July 23rd. Oxford Mayor Alton Craft supports the council’s decision to let residents have the final say so. Mayor Craft says that one way or the other, this matter will be decided and once again, all city residents are encouraged to vote.
