Common Core Repeal Passes

The House of Representatives passed the Common Core Repeal sponsored by Senator Pro Tem Del Marsh. Common Core Standards describes what students should know before passing each grade and Marsh believes it’s time to move on from Common Core Education and focus on new standards. Marsh says students learn best when innovation takes place in the classroom which is not happening with the current system.

The bill will now be voted on by Alabamians during the 2020 Primary Elections. If accepted, the bill would replace the current elected State Board of Education with members appointed by the governor and confirmed by the state Senate.
