Libraries and Laundry

A business owner is doing his part in making sure children have something productive to do while they are at one of his establishments. Ken Barrett, owner of Washin' Coin Laundry, has collected more than 1,000 books for children to read while with their parents. If the child really enjoys the books, they are able to take them home, and exchange them for more once they return.

Barrett has partnered with the Public Library of Anniston and Calhoun County to have librarians come and read books to the children while their parents do laundry. Barrett enjoys helping the community in any way possible and he is a firm believer that reading helps to establish strong bonds for children.

Barrett says there are books available for children at all Washin' Coin Laundry establishments in Calhoun County.
