White meat has been viewed by many people as the healthier alternative to red meat and darker poultry meats. But according to a recent nutrition study, that is no longer considered true. A study published by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has revealed that both types of meat have the same effect on your cholesterol levels.
The study did not include grass-fed beef, processed meat products, or fish. However, researchers also discovered that saturated fats and meats increased large LDL particles compared to those who don’t eat meat. All in all, if you are concerned about your cholesterol, you are encouraged to eat white and red meat and more plant-based proteins.
