Suspect Charged in Sylacauga Robbery


New details have been released regarding a recent robbery at a credit union in Sylacauga. According to the Sylacauga Police Department, Damion Nix walked into the Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union on May 28th where he fired a gun several times and robbed a customer. Officers responded quickly to the scene and were able to arrest Nix in a wooded area near the credit union.

During the arrest, officers discovered cash and body armor on Nix. He now faces two counts of first-degree Robbery with a bond amount set at $120,000. Nix was sentenced to 24 years in 2009 for two counts of first-degree robbery. He was released on parole in 2017. If convicted, Nix could face up to life in prison.
