Millions of people around the world honored Veterans and fallen troops who took part in the world’s largest air and sea invasion. Today marked the 75th anniversary of the allied invasion of Normandy known as D-Day.
More than 160,000 allied troops fought to get Nazi Germany out of France during World War Two. People paid their respects to the nearly 10,000 fallen troops by visiting museums, memorials, and war cemeteries to lay wreaths. The Berman Museum in Anniston also held a D-Day ceremony to pay respects to our Veterans.
